Little Little Changes

A little change I have noticed is - opening up a little more.

I realised through self-reflection that I am quite a private person and don't open out as much as some other people.

A friend suggested to me to be a bit less private.

So, recently, I have been conscious of this, and sometimes try to open up a little bit more than usual (sometimes).

With co-workers, flatmates and in my Toast Masters group, I have been giving a little more detail, instead of keeping it all in.

Of course, I am nervous to open up more than usual, because that is my habit, to keep it in. But...

This week I hit success.

I opened up a little bit more in a meeting with my co-workers.

I opened up about a work project that was making me nervous.

Within seconds, my co-workers suggested two very good ideas I had not thought of!

And save a lot of time and ....!

I wrote my co-workers ideas down on a piece of paper and put it into action.

I was shocked at how communicating just a bit more information about the situation allowed my co-workers to provide very good ideas.

And also, just listening to their ideas without being defensive.

These little changes would not be noticeable for people to see, however, it is making a difference to my life.
